ICBC Bank Panama Branch

Commissioned jointly by Panama Waterdrop Construction S.A and China Construction America, the interior design project focuses on establishing the Panama branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. This venture marks a significant milestone as the first Chinese bank to establish a presence in Panama since the inception of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Given Panama's status as one of the fastest-growing economies in Latin America, a regional financial hub, and a critical shipping route connecting North and South America, this project underscores the strategic importance of the region in fostering trade relations between China and the Americas.

Situated on the 20th floor of the MMG building in Panama, the office offers breath-taking views of the scenic Costa del Este coast and the azure expanse of the Pacific skyline. Although the tower is among the early green buildings in Panama, its irregular floor layout presented a unique challenge. Diverging from the standard design of domestic ICBC branches, the regional director's vision calls for a modern and concise Western style, while still capturing the essence of Panama's vibrant seaside atmosphere. This design initiative seeks to seamlessly blend these elements, creating a space that reflects both the bank's global sophistication and the distinctive character of Panama's sunny coastal city.
