Architect
Xiaoyan Liu is an experienced Architectural Designer with over 15 years of professional practice in China, specialising in detailed design, construction documentation, and project delivery across large-scale architectural and landscape developments. Her background combines strong conceptual understanding with deep technical expertise, enabling her to support projects from early design stages through to construction and completion.
Her experience spans a wide range of typologies, including high- and low-rise residential developments, mixed-use schemes, villas, commercial buildings, educational facilities, waterfront developments, and complex basement structures. Xiaoyan has worked extensively on major residential communities and urban-scale projects, contributing to both architectural and landscape components, with a particular sensitivity to heritage-inspired architecture and contextual design.
Xiaoyan has held senior roles in architectural practices in Xi’an and Beijing, including serving as Project Director and Partner at Xi’an Huazhu Architectural Design Ltd. In this role, she led project delivery, coordinated multidisciplinary teams, reviewed and managed construction drawings, and maintained close communication with clients and consultants. Her work required a high level of technical coordination with structural and MEP engineers, as well as active involvement during construction to ensure design intent was carried through on site.
Earlier in her career, Xiaoyan worked with international and national design practices, including ZEPHYR (US) Architects P.C. and Beijing CCI Architectural Design Co., Ltd, where she contributed to concept design, master planning, detailed technical drawings, and construction-stage support for large and complex developments. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology and brings a rigorous, detail-oriented approach to all stages of the design and delivery process.
