Jiayue Mu
BA(hons), MA RIBA Part II
Architectural Assistant
Jiayue Mu is currently completing her Master of Architecture (Part 2) at the Royal College of Art, London, where her design research focuses on community-oriented and narrative-led architecture, with particular interest in how built environments support identity, memory and social belonging. This research-led approach is well aligned with public and community-focused projects.
She received a strong architectural foundation during her undergraduate studies, including award-winning competition work in which Revit played a central role. Her academic training is complemented by professional experience at AECOM and Woods Bagot, where she contributed to large-scale residential and mixed-use projects, including design competitions and early-stage concept development.
In professional practice, Jiayue has supported senior architects in the preparation of concept designs, feasibility studies, presentation material and competition submissions, strengthening her ability to develop early-stage ideas into clear, coherent proposals. She brings particular strength in visual communication, diagramming and narrative clarity, supporting both internal design development and external consultation material.
Jiayue is proficient in Rhino, Enscape and Adobe Creative Suite, with additional experience in Revit BIM, enabling her to support both design exploration and drawing production. Within the project team, she will support the Project Architect with design development, drawings, visualisations and public consultation material, contributing to the delivery of a clear, inclusive and well-communicated planning proposal.
